  • Men's Small Group

Based on the desire of several men in the church, a group of 10 started getting together each Sunday night and studying what the Bible taught about leadership. This ultimately lead to four men stepping into leadership roles in the church as elders and deacons.

Now averaging 18 men each Sunday night,  this group is studying The Chronological Life of Christ by Mark E. Moore.  The mission of this group is to expand knowledge of the Word of God and to fellowship with other Christian men.

Matthew 28:18 – 20 tells us “Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  Based on this Great Commission, several of us are going out and visiting current members and new attendees so that we can identify their personal needs and provide encouragement for their walk with the Lord.

The men hosted an all church fish fry and fellowship that was a great success and enjoyed by several members and their friends and family.  Be on the lookout for other events that are being planned!

  • Women's Small Group

During COVID restrictions, nudges from God prompted a small group to form that met Sunday evenings under a sycamore tree in my backyard.  That initial group of 4, all expressing the same needs, has grown. That small group is still meeting and continuing to accomplish its original mission of helping each other develop a more intimate relationship with the Lord and reaching those that may not have a relationship with Him at all.

This has been done through the Word of God and prayer along with the assistance of books and pod casts by Christian authors like Beth Moore, Lysa TerKeurst, Max Lucado, Sheila Walsh and Chip Ingram.  We’ve done studies on prayer, the fruit of the spirit, discovering our spiritual gifts and currently we are learning how to make wise choices in the midst of raw emotions as we read Unglued by Lysa TerKeurst.

This group has shared the love of God through various activities.  Caroling to those that lost loves ones and to new church attendees during the year has been something we look forward to doing each Christmas.  Creating goodie bags for those in our community and church going through various struggles has been another great tool for outreach.  Encouragement is given not only to each other, but to others through cards and notes.  One of our greatest ministries has been starting up the ladies fellowship again in our own church.  Not sure how many people would attend, we had our first gathering and did a paint dinner night.  We were blessed to have over 45 in attendance.  We continue to have quarterly get togethers, sharing Gods word and doing fun activities with ladies of all ages.  Our latest being our breakfast and prayer walk that we hope to make an annual event.  Be on the lookout for upcoming events!

Are you interested in being a part of a small group?  Has God been nudging you to come out of your comfort zone and start a small group?  Feel free to contact me.  Remember the words of 2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
